The sale room was full of wine enthusiasts many wanting to fill up their cellars for a summer of parties while others were after some seriously good wine to put in their collections. Our regular clientele had consigned a good and varied collection of 50 large lots of fine wines and spirits. We were so happy with the results that we have already set the next Special Wine & Spirits auction date for your diary Tuesday 22nd July and suggest you look through your cellars and wine cabinets and bring in lots for the next sale, we are also looking for all sorts wine and cocktail collectables and ephemera. We should also mention we had a fine selection of good Whiskey that have gone to very good homes - we are wondering how many will be opened this evening?

More about maritime artist Dews …

"Born in Yorkshire in 1949, Steven Dews now lives between Australia and his home near to England's southern coast. His meteoric rise to success from distinctly unpromising beginnings should be an inspiration to all young artists. From being the boy who failed his Art 'A' level, his work has now placed him at the pinnacle of the marine art world.
Confirmation of his pre-eminence came in the Sotheby's sale of Maritime Art in London in 1999, where his original, entitled 'Off Cowes', sold for the phenomenal price of £89,500 ($140,000)."
