A well observed copy of the original ca. 1631, held by Musée des Beaux-Arts, Bordeaux, France.


Marie de' Medici was born on April 26, 1575, and passed away on July 3, 1642. She held the title of Queen of France and Navarre, having become the second wife of King Henry IV. Following Henry IV's death, Marie assumed the role of regent of France from 1610 to 1617, guiding the kingdom during the minority of her son, Louis XIII.
